The Introductory Rites

When the Entrance Chant is concluded, the Priest and the faithful, standing, sign themselves with the Sign of the Cross, while the Priest, facing the people, says:

The Liturgy of the Word

The reader goes to the ambo and reads the First Reading, while all sit and listen.
To indicate the end of the reading, the reader acclaims:
